Topic — “Kindness is a decision. It’s a decision to incline the heart toward goodwill for all beings, especially those that are suffering in ignorance, knowingly or unknowingly.” This quotation from Buddhist teacher Ruth King centers our learning around what it means to move toward goodwill and understanding, even when circumstances (and personalities!) are challenging.
Bio — Wendy Bartlett has served as the Collection Development & Acquisitions Manager for Cuyahoga County Public Library since 2008. Wendy graduated from the Unitarian Universalist House of Studies with a Master of Divinity degree. She is involved with social justice issues including anti-racism and LGBTQ concerns. She lives with her grown-up son, a cat, and a grand cat in Fairlawn, Ohio.
